Leticia Harris

Hi everyone! I'm Leticia Harris, a TEFL volunteer with Peace Corps who will be living and working in Úmbita, Boyacá for the next two years. I grew up in Round Rock, Texas before I received my bachelor's degree in journalism and creative writing and master's degree in investigative reporting from Northwestern University. After my graduation in 2020, I spent two years writing about music at NPR; there I frequently appeared on podcasts and interviewed musicians. I have lived in Vietnam and Alaska, visited Japan, China, Cuba and South Africa on reporting trips. I love to sing, dance, listen to musicals and write about every single thought that pops into my head. I'm so excited to participate in Cienega's English Song Contest, thank you for having me!

Ron Deb

Hello! My name is Ron Deb and I am a Community Economic Development volunteer with Peace Corps in Toca, Boyaca. I am from Connecticut and while attending the University of Connecticut I studied Economics. I have experience teaching and worked for the state department on commerce policy. When I’m not in the classroom or working alongside business owners, I enjoy playing soccer and table tennis and love watching football and basketball on TV. I love listening to music and even played the violin back in the day, I haven’t played in a while but I’m sure I’ve still got the knack for it. My favorite genre of music is 80’s rock and I’m so excited to be part of Cienega’s English Song Festival!
